There's a new girl here. She showed up yesterday and, oh my, she is sweet.
This is the third time we've had strays show up on our doorstep. Is there some sort of sign on our door, the equivalent of a quilt hung along the underground railroad? Something that dogs whisper to each other in passing: "Go here...they're good people. They like dogs"? Is that it?
They're usually hound dogs, and this one is, too. We live in a community of hunters so hounds are plentiful. I think this brindle color might be typical of Plott Hounds, but I don't know. I'll have to look it up.
We're calling her Honey, and if no one shows up to claim her, I think I'm going to push to keep her. She's a real sweetheart.
I think that good dogs just recognize good people. :) I can see why you'd want to keep her--you can see the sweetness and soulfulness in those eyes.

My little girl looks exactly the same as your pup as well! We guessed she was a Plott/Cur mix of some sort but will probably never know for sure. They sure are nice-looking dogs though!
