Where Owen seems destined to be an artist, I wonder if Barrett is headed for the bright lights of Broadway.
Give this girl a stage, any stage, and she. will. perform.
In fact she looks for stages--a bench, a step stool, a large rock. Any sort of platform, anything that elevates becomes her spotlight and she will sing and dance. Loudly, with great expression, much gesturing and emoting. Moving with abandon.
She pauses regularly for applause, plays her audience with a grin, holds up her arms in a triumphant flourish, takes a bow.
Now her performances are reserved for a select few. Strangers take note and she is suddenly shy and hiding behind my legs. But we who are privileged to bask in her light know: it won't be long until this child is a star. In her mind at least.
And always, always in the hearts of her most adoring fans: her family.
