These three things remain
If I could give my children nothing else in life, there are three things I want for them to have:
Faith. I want my children to have faith. In a power that is higher than anything, that is the source of everything, that can both create and move mountains and seas. I want them to have faith that this power is all around them, that it is within them, that it is in others, as well.
Hope. I want my children to have hope in a beautiful future for us all. For without hope they will never be able to accomplish their dreams for themselves, for the earth, for the world.
Love. I want my children to know love. To feel loved. To have love. For all living things, for the earth, for all people, for themselves.
I know that their lives will not be without turmoil, without pain. But I pray that they can carry with them these three things, for when all else falls away, what remains are these: faith, hope, love.
And the greatest of these is love.
