"I live my life in growing orbits,
Which move out over the things of the world."
Ranier Maria Rilke, The Book of Hours
"Most of all nature is reflected in our capacity for wonder. Nasci. To be born." Richard Louv, Last Child in the Woods
"It is a grand long view. The river and valley, and then coves and blue ridges heaved up and ragged to the limits of eyesight." Charles Frazier, thirteen moons
"A conscientious journal keeper is really the natural historian of his own life." Verlyn Klinkenborg, The Rural Life
" You could build your own life on the observation of it." Charles Frazier, Cold Mountain
"...the view stretched on and on across rows of blue mountains, each paler than the last until the final ranks were indistinguishable from sky. It was as if all the world might be composed of nothing but valley and ridge." Charles Frazier, Cold Mountain
That is so awesome! The details in both the grasshoppers and that plant is just wonderful! Great shot!

WOW, what a clear shot you have here... What were you using at the time?
Also, what flower is that on, just to give it some perspective...
Happy WW!

About this photo:
I used, as always, my Nikkon CoolPix4500 camera. It is a digital but not a digital SLR. I'm still saving up for that.
I went out last night to photograph some more of my Dahlias and zinnias and other stuff in the garden while the light was hitting that evening perfection. As I was examining the Dahlia bud, I noticed these two. I took lots of shots, and as I got closer to them they scooted around the stem of the plant to get away from me.
Oh, and Joanna, funny you notice the blade of grass--I had other shots that revealed a bit more but I decided to use this one so as to be a bit more...discreet. Of course I know nothing aboiut invertebrate anatomy so I wasn't sure what was "showing" in the other shots. I chose this one just to be safe. Plus I liked that this shot shows the flower bud.
Thanks again everyone for visiting and for commenting!

This is SO COOL! Great macro shot! I have a DSLR and honestly, sometimes, I get just as good of shots with my little point & shoot!
Great job!
